ENEL-MED opens a new diagnostic centre in the centre of Warszawa

Today has seen the grand opening of the modern ENEL-MED Diagnostic Centre. The new laboratory is located on the premises of the hospital that is currently under construction at Al. Solidarności 128 in Warszawa.

The new facility offers a wide range of services in the field of diagnostic imaging. ENEL-MED is one of the leaders on this market, with a network of nine diagnostic laboratories. The newly opened centre is the third such laboratory opened by ENEL-MED in Warszawa.

“Diagnostic imaging is the second largest segment of our company’s activity in terms of profitability. Currently, the monthly turnover of ENEL-MED generated by this segment exceeds 2 million zlotys. The decision to open a new diagnostic centre in Warszawa is the company’s response to the situation on the medical market. ENEL-MED sees a growing demand for diagnostic services and strives to meet the expectations of its current and potential customers. Naturally, this investment is also another step in implementing the company’s investment plan created at the time of its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange,” says Adam Rozwadowski, the President of the Centrum Medyczne ENEL-MED S.A.

“Our decision was also influenced by the fact that more and more public hospitals engage other companies to perform diagnostic tests (diagnostics outsourcing). All these factors contributed to the fact that we decided to use a part of the funds proceeding from the IPO to develop this segment. We believe that the diagnostics market is a promising one and will grow dynamically. The potential of this market is also recognised by experts who estimate that in 2012 its value will exceed 1 billion zlotys,*” adds Adam Rozwadowski.

The Diagnostic Centre at Al. Solidarności offers a full spectrum of diagnostic services – both for the needs of the hospital and patients from outside the hospital. The modern facility is equipped with, among others, 64-row dual-source CT scanner with advanced cardiac specialisation (allows imaging of all the details of the heart regardless of its rhythm, and offers an immediate, one-step diagnosis of emergency cases), and 1.5-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner (allows continuous examination of a larger surface of the body than ever before, such as the spine, while retaining maximum image quality).

The diagnostic tests will benefit commercial (full range of primary and specialist services), subscription and insurance patients. The laboratory at Al. Solidarności will specialise, in particular, in highly specialised orthopaedic, neurosurgical and cardiologic examinations. Furthermore, it will perform mammography and magnetic resonance and sonoelastography (method of measurement of tissue elasticity). The opening of the new Diagnostic Centre will ensure excellent accessibility to services in this field.
